Another Portland, Maine photo dump! Yes, I know! lol
My apologies if you're getting tired of these.
For those of you who haven't seen my other threads, or don't know much about Portland, Maine, here's some quick info: Portland (city population 68,408; urban area 205,356; metro 556,893) is the largest city and metro area in the state of Maine, and the cultural and economic hub of Northern New England.
It may not be a large city by other state's standards, but 40% of Maine's population lives in the Portland metro area.
Anyway, these encompass most of the photos I've taken of Portland, Maine from August-October of this year.
Most of these were taken in the Arts District, Bayside, Parkside and West End neighborhoods.
These next few are from a walk starting in Knightville (in South Portland), over the Casco Bay Bridge, and ending in Portland's West End
Here are some examples of Portland's typical wood-frame multifamily housing, as seen in various neighborhoods. Even though Portland has a reputation as a city of brick, the majority of its housing stock are actually wood-framed buildings such as these. This style of housing is common in most urban areas across New England. The narrow, three-story buildings are known as Three Deckers (or Triple Deckers), which are a common form of urban housing in New England. They are essentially stacked flats, with one identical apartment per floor.
