I guess they bought out the owners of the 3 small houses sitting on that space and will be tearing them down (assuming that wasn't done already - haven't had a bike ride there since early last summer).

Houses are still there and leased out. I did notice soil testing machines on the property over the summer, so this isn't a surprise to me.
