Old Oak has slightly modified their planning application. Same heights and similar site-plan.

Now if only their sister company Summit Properties would start the 18s and 16s towers just north of here. Concrete Forming will be kept busy with work for years with all the potential Old Oak, Bluestone and Summit proposals.

Old Oak has revised their planning application for the third time. The two buildings have a slightly higher unit count and the placement of the two buildings has been rearranged.

City planning staff is recommending that Council approve the zoning changes that would allow for these two proposed apartment buildings.

Goes to Council's Planning and Environment committee on October 23rd.

Old Oak has parked a couple of construction trailers on the site. No fencing up as of yet. I would expect CF will handle the concrete forming as per usual when they decide to start.

Timing is about right as CF concrete crew will likely be wrapping up the concrete work on the Centro North 29s tower in about 6 months and will be available to start on this project then. Another crew is likely going to build Bluestones new building on Pond Mills in a few months once excavation is completed.

Heavy equipment has been removing the topsoil on the south side of the property now that the trees have been cleared.

Utility services have started to be roughed in to serve the south 5s building. Could see foundation footings starting soon. Wonder if Old Oaks plans to setup a tower crane for this build like they did for the Mosaik buildings next door.

They installed utility services for the south building over a month ago now but things have stalled with no activity since.

Excited to see things finally happening here. This was a quaint little “park” that I enjoyed walking through when I lived in this neighbourhood, but it’s time for bigger and better things - there is already plenty of access to good forest trails in this area, so the lot won’t be missed. This was a really nice neighbourhood to live in and I’m happy that there are more buildings coming.

Kind of funny though that nothing happened on this site for the 3ish years that I lived in the neighbourhood, the prep work pretty much started as soon as I left.

Framers have started on the row of townhouses which are just south of the 5s buildings which will go up. The site prep has started for the 5s buildings.

Framers are working fast with the 3rd floor walls now going up on the townhouse units on the south end of this site. Work continues on excavation for the low rise buildings north side.
