New York developer plans 1,100 apartments in Fort Lauderdale

The Ombelle would total 1.04 million square feet with two 43-story towers connected by a podium. It would have 1,100 apartments, 11,217 square feet of commercial space, and 1,100 parking spaces. There would be an amenity deck on the 10th floor with two pools, a garden, a lounge/bar, a game room, a library, a private dining room, coworking space, a gym, a spin room, a spa, a dance studio and a yoga studio.

“We are looking to establish a high-end, condo-like experience for renters,” said Isaac Schlesinger, head of Dependable Equities. “Our 75,000-square-foot amenity deck will be a renter’s dream. We are aiming to bring a product to the market that does not exist today.”
Ombelle was designed by New York-based ODA Architecture. Fort Lauderdale-based attorney Stephanie Toothaker represents the developer in the application.

Miami-Dade is growing at an unprecedented rate. This will only accelerate. A lot of talent has been flowing to the region and as we've seen with pre-sales, demand is high. Even amidst all that's going on in the world, the demand is high.

Heights were revealed for these two towers in a Next Miami article.

The heights for the towers are - "with the top of the structures at 525 feet above ground and a roof height of 493 feet above ground"

That's my "after vacation" song!

Fort Lauderdale is on track to have a nice dense skyline. All we need is better transportation options other than Brightline and Tri-rail.

Fort Lauderdale approved a streetcar system called "The Wave", then millions of dollars later canceled it due to cost overruns. The current plan is to provide commuter service on the Brightline tracks on the city's east side (in addition to the current commuter rail on the westside of I-95) and also a people mover from airport terminals to a new airport Brightline station to Port Everglades.

Wow! That will definitely stretch the skyline to the north a little bit. Seems to be lots of positive momentum in Ft Lauderdale. I've been to Ft Lauderdale a lot since I have some family there... but I've never checked out Flagler Village. Adding that to the itinerary for next time!

Some of the spill over from Miami. Tons in the pipeline and not even near the beach or downtown but everywhere. South Florida is booming big time! The nice thing we are seeing is that these developers are filling up via pre-sales, and pretty soon after they launch sales.
