I think greenspace has different functions, and none of those places function as community space. Not are they likely to be revamped to function like community parks anytime soon. They are also peripheral to the neighbourhood.
The current parks in the neighbourhood are small and inadequate for the number of people that will be coming in with the new developments. I’m all for density, but this is a chance to do it right. Booth Street may include something more along those lines, but I don’t recall seeing any major community spaces.
The beauty of that site is that it’s large, central and would be perfect for community events etc. Those kind of spaces are particularly important in high rise communities.
