SACRAMENTO—With a completion date set for December 2022, the new Sacramento Criminal Courthouse will then become a reality and help alleviate overcrowding at the current Gordon Schaber Courthouse.
Construction begins this October on the new trial court facility that will be comprised of 53 courtrooms for judges and support staff of the Superior Court of Sacramento County.
Designed to achieve LEED Silver certification, Clark Construction is performing the site development and construction of the 543,290-square-foot, 17-story building, which includes a mechanical penthouse and interior improvements, as well as mechanical, electrical, telecommunications, audio/visual, and security systems. The project team will also construct approximately 70 secure basement parking spaces for judges and executive staff. This will be Clark’s third job with the Judicial Council of California.

Construction crews will soon begin work on the long-anticipated $493 million Sacramento County Courthouse near the city’s Railyards district, Sacramento Superior Court officials announced Friday.
“We finally see light at the end of the tunnel,” presiding Sacramento Superior Court Judge Russell Hom said in the prepared statement. “Replacing the antiquated downtown courthouse with a new state of the art court facility will not only bring renewed prosperity to the Sacramento region but, more importantly, meet the much needed judicial needs of our growing community for years to come.”
Officials announced crews officially broke ground on the multimillion dollar project Friday. Courthouse builders Clark Construction Group is leading the project.
Glad to see it move forward, but crazy how it cost almost a half billion dollars to build.

I have a friend who is working on the project for the county and says the current height is ~302ft, but I don't believe that number is publicly available anywhere to verify, but she has been working on the project for a number of years. I'm not sure if that number is to the roof, or to some other structural or decorative element though.

In the renderings, both courthouses looked like the same height 350ft.

Official ground breaking was last November. In my communications with both
DGS (CA Dept. of General Services) and Clark Construction, they both confirmed
the the height at 270'. Not sure where the other numbers are
coming from? Soon there will be two cranes, exciting to see.
Is that lot to the east with the wall forming around it part of the project or a separate project?
