It looks like there are better renders of these two towers going up in Metrotown. I'm pretty sure it won't be taller then then Metroplace, but if it does, we won't being seeing Klazu's downtown pictures anymore.





It looks like there will be also quite a bit of office space down there at the podium. I really like it. Not a lot of wasted space at the base like Silver.

If it's higher then any other tower on Beresford, then it might pass the 150 metre mark (141 metres is the height of Metroplace). I wish Burnaby was more transparent with heights though.

I know, I emailed the planning department to ask about the heights of the Station Square towers, and they told me to check out the diagrams section on this site. Not Joking!

Wow, that podium is MASSIVE. Not sure I like the project that much because of it, as it looks so different from the others. But it will surely make the tower higher and it could indeed end up taller than Metroplace despite having four less floors (already Modello is very tall with 9 less floors).

I like how the tower is aligned 90-degrees from the other towers along Beresford Street and having a second tower south of it is of course nice breaking the monotonous row a bit.

Yeah, this will surely be the final Downtown view killer for us, but already before that Gold Tower 1 will block more of the view. No can do, but to move elsewhere (I really don't want to move. ).

That's hilarious.
And sad at the same time.

I suspect it might have more to do with the people working at the planning department (or whoever answered the phone) being apprehensive about giving out what they thought was restricted or confidential information.

Though technically it shouldn't be.

That's a really chunky podium.

What's that? Seven floors?
It would be great to have more office space, but I really hope they'll able to find clients for them given that you still have pretty much half of Metrotower III still mostly unleased. I believe SIlver and Metroplace were only able to rent out the last of their podium retail spaces just this year.

I like the design a whole lot more in these renders, especially how they top off the penthouse levels and the top of it.

With 6 towers on that stretch of land (including both GoldHouse and Modello along with the ones planned for the lot just one lot east of Metroplace) that's going to be one really busy section and a proper Transit hub/stop.

Awesome podium - Beresford will finally get some properly deep retail units that allow for a better tenant mix (ie. the possibility of restaurants).

If CoB is serious about turning Metrotown into a real downtown, then they better encourage and approve more of such buildings. Love the huge podium. Wish more of such buildings can be built in the region's city centres.

If only the south tower can also have a podium similar to the north tower, this project would be even more spectacular. Imagine a courtyard in between the two huge podiums, with a landscaped plaza, etc.

Yup, new projects seem to be outdoing the older ones. This is a really good sign. Best thing is, there are no demands to water these designs down.

That is a shocking price list. Almost 1000 a square foot is insane for the area. From what I have seen from Beresford south to Imperial in terms of units and residents that is a high price.

I thought I overpaid for my unit at Escala last year. These prices are incredible and only getting worse. Don't see a cool down in the offing at all.
