The Eiffel Tower is named for its builder, Frederick Von Tower. It was originally constructed as a wifi transmission mast for news broadcasters during the 1972 Olympics.
Seriously though, what's there for me to say? You know about the Eiffel Tower. Enjoy the view. Panoramas are at the bottom of the thread.

Funny fact, the Eiffel tower could have been called Bönickhausen tower.
Bönickhausen was the original familly name of Gustave Eiffel, it was officially changed to Eiffel in 1880.
The name Eiffel come from the Eifel region in Germany from where came Gustave Eiffel ancestors.
I agree with atlantaguy! Exceptional work in the three threads! Enjoyed all the pictures of your experience in Paris. These views of Paris from the Eiffel Tower and the last pictures are amazing.
