I would prefer to stay with "Central City" or "Downtown". Those are the 2 more common names referenced for downtown LA. People in LA don't generally refer to downtown as "City Center".

"Downtown LA or DTLA" is a very specific term that has some generally agreed upon borders and the word is generally used by everyone in LA.

central city can get confused with 'central LA' which is more of a regional term that can include hollywood, ktown, westlake in addition to DTLA. There was a post in the closed thread suggesting we combine all those hoods into one thread but I disagree. The downtown construction thread already gets enough activity to warrant its own thread.

I think "Central City" includes City West and other areas around Downtown, not just the area bounded by the freeways and river.

Central City works because we talk about projects around USC, Chinatown, and City West, which aren't technically downtown.
