Mike Maguire has said publically that he is running for mayor.

And former chief of police who is incapable of holding one job without jumping to the next big appointment Verne White is also considering it, and of course my way or the highway Watson. Once again a poor selection of candidates. Reluctantly, I will have to vote for Watson.

Are we allowed to talk about Harris and his band of clowns?

Yes? Well, then knock yourself out!

Not running but Harris's cancelation of the Eglington subway line a lesson in stupidity we must remember when considering Maguire candidacy.

As an earlier poster stated, I doubt his candidacy will attract much support.

That said, I wonder what bigger names we might see enter the ring in the next year. Someone with actual clout has to go up against Watson, right? I'm hoping it's not just a cakewalk for the guy.

Not surprisingly, I've never voted for the guy. Nor Larry O'Brien, I should add.

Who did you vote for last election? Haydon? Or one of the random fringe candidates?

Oh yes, judging by my many posts in the transit section knocking Andy Haydon's 'Bus to the Past' plans IT MUST HAVE BEEN HIM.

No, it was a fringe-er who expressed ideas I agreed with. But it wasn't a born politician, so the candidate was trounced.

I should add that a sense of civic duty compels me to vote, even if it is for lost causes.

That's quite unlike me. I'd have voted for Watson because he was better than the other alternatives who actually had a realistic chance of winning. Next election I'm probably going to be forced to do the same. I don't think anyone credible is going to go up against him.... who is there? All the old names have all either left for good or become integrated into Watson's circle. I predict Watson with 80% of the popular vote.

Same here, but I have yet to vote for a fringe candidate. Worth noting that I've been to the polls 5 times (every election since reaching 18) and only once was I happy with my vote. The other four times I voted for the best of a bad situation.

So, you've been to the polls 5 times (every election) since turning 18?

Man, you really must have been torn up when the Eglington subway was cancelled 18 years ago.

I heard they let kindergarten classes out early

My tax dollars today are building a modified version of that same line that was cancelled in the 90s. The stupid decisions of the past effect today's decisions. Just because I didn't follow politics when I was 8 years old doesn't mean I can't look to the past to influence my vote.

That's fine. Our taxes pay for clean-up of a lot of mistakes. Even ones made more recently than 1995.

We haven't seen any good government on any level in the last ten years.

Didn't even know he was a potential candidate. Quite frankly, I didn't know he ran against Watson in the 2007 provincial election.

Pull a Homer Simpson when public speaking time rolls around:

"Do you really want Old Man Watson, with his finger on the button?"
