PHILADELPHIA| Wynn Resort and Hotel | 25 floors | 300 feet

Title: Wynn Philadelphia
Project: 2,500 slot machines. 100 game tables. 300 room hotel. 10,000 sqft nightclub. 22-acre park. 20,000 sqft entertainment complex, 2,250 car parking garage with green roof, restaurants, "boardwalk". 3,300 permanent jobs.
Architect: ??
Developer: Steve Wynn
Location: N. Beach St., Fishtown, Philadelphia, PA
Floors: 25
Height: 300 ft

In addition to 2,500 slot machines and 100 game tables, Allman and McKenna described large, luxurious hotel suites, a spa, restaurants, a 30,000-square foot nightclub, green space that includes a dog park, ice cream stand, skating rink and other features. The presentation included a new image of the waterfront portion of the project. McKenna said the $900 million Wynn Philadelphia casino would be “the largest private development in the history of Pennsylvania."Many CDAG questions were auto-related, concerning both how cars would move in and around the 60-acre site and the 20-acre, 2,250-car garage. Allman said that with the garage as it is, there is still a lot of green space – 22 acres. By comparison, she noted, Penn Treaty Park is 6.9 acres.

The project has been approved by the Fishtown Neighbors Association. The project still needs to receive a gaming license from the state and all though there are six other casino applicants, this is the most likely candidate to win the license.

My eyes just vomited

That is perhaps one of the worst non-Trump renders I have seen for this type of project.

The Planning Commission told them to change the design. Doubt this is what the final product will look like.

Hilariously bad, and not just the rendering style. It reminds me of how the producers of Mad Men tracked down that old illustrator to do the promo ad in that late 60's style. This is just embarrassing, it not only looks like an retro rendering style, it looks like an old rendering, the cars seem to be the only giveaway. Lattice? Seriously?

Wow, that's bad. It's like cheap, early/mid-90's Vegas. Had I only seen the rendering and knew nothing else, I could not have placed this in Philly. There is absolutely no context to it.

Anyone else finds it strange that Senator Mike Stack and his family are to make millions off of a land opton if Wynn's project is selected?

Wow, Wynn and Encore are classy (for Vegas) and quite decent looking towers. This thing is hideous. Agree about the rendering style, what is this, 1982? bleh.

Just out of curiosity, what makes you say that? Do you have some inside info? In all honesty, I really hope that this one doesn't win the license given the design.

I believe this is the only proposal that already has approval from the various neighborhood groups which may be a factor.

This one really doesn't try to fit into the urban fabric at all....This belongs in AC or LV where it can get lost in the density of the skyline as a filler not here in Philly where it'll scar the skyline, cmon Wynn give us something classy....
