[Burnaby] Silver | 127 meters | 38 Floors | Complete

Looks promising, the pedestrian friendly podium will help with the emerging urban vibe of Metrotown. Burnaby is gonna be awesome in a few years!

Silver, Burnaby, BC. 38 storeys

Unfortunately there are no other renders at this time.

[Burnaby] Silver | 38 Floors | Approved

Quote:
Shining example of modern condo architecture

Located in the heart of the Lower Mainland just steps from Burnaby's Metrotown SkyTrain station, Silver is Intracorp's futuristic new 38-storey tower-a shining example of modern condo architecture; offering unparalleled views in every direction. And, with its generously pro-portioned cantilevered balconies, you will be able to breathe some pretty rare air indeed.

Recognizing the trend towards more liveable cities, Intracorp has concentrated its efforts on bringing new homes to where people actually want to be. Every home Intracorp creates is designed to fit into an established neighbourhood and contribute positively and en-rich the spirit of the surrounding neighbourhood.

Set in an authentic, amenity-rich urban environment at the corner of Beresford Street and Silver Avenue, Silver is just across the street from destination shopping in Metropolis at Metrotown; anchored by brand-name retailers like Real Canadian Superstore, T&T Supermarket, Chapters, Winners, HomeSense and The Bay. You'll find all the necessities of life here-groceries, healthcare, banking, even childcare. If you include nearby Station Square and Crystal Mall, your new Silver home is close to more than 450 shops and services!

The architecture of the tower itself is uninspired, but it's functional, likely less expensive than the architecturally really cool options were, and it fits in alright with the look of the area. I like the height on this one and especially like the podium. It's a good addition to Metrotown and looks like an affordable transit oriented development

I guess it's a "shining example" in the sense that it looks exactly the same as every other tower built in the suburbs in the past decade, but the podium's fantastic. That stretch of Beresford is going to be really interesting in a few years.

By the way, it's always nice to see our major regional newspaper running ad copy as an article. And they say print journalism is dead!

In a way, "more of the same," yet this will increase density in Metrotown, underscoring the viability of our "town centre" approach in metro Vancouver, as opposed to low density sprawl typical of many other North American cities.

Wow the Skytrain around Metrotown is really going to seem like traveling through a canyon of towers if Beresford St. keeps this up. You guys are right, the tower itself is just alright (the balconies blegh) but the podium/streetscape looks like a nice compliment to Metroplace.

Amazing what happens when you are land locked...

He'll correct us, if necessary, I am sure.

The phrase is "geographically constrained".

Those floor plans are your typical condo flare. It will be interesting to see the rate of pre-sales, especially from mainland Chinese investors who generally snatch up these condos for speculative purposes.

With the split closet, can you even fit a queen in that bedroom?
Check out the 6 inches of counter space in the kitchen.

http://www.silverliving.ca/homes/floorplans/#planE

Can the kitchen be any smaller in a 886 sq ft. unit, not to mention the balcony.

Yep, they'll be gone before you know it

if you own now or have for some time count yourself lucky that your not in the market for a 700+ sqft 2 bedroom condo, let alone one in the low 800's. but I guess thats the trend and if they target foreign buyers use to small units im sure they will sell.

I would for go the 2 bedrooms and settle for a larger 1 bedroom and den.

crazyness!!!
