Sad thing is most people I talk to have never heard of CC, but they all know about Tubby Dog.

Nothing beats an el cheapo hot-dog fresh off the grill at a backyard party.

le chien chaud for sure! I love that it is a true mom & pop shop and the featured dogs are awesome. I agree that the weird topping at tubby dog do nothing for me. Plus I am pretty stoked that le Chein Chaud has been a fixture the past couple of years at the Stampede.

The homemade condiments are SUPER-awesome.

CC has better toppings IMO. The Mushroom Gruyere dog kicks ass.

Plus, CC has the frequent eater card. Free hot dogs is never a bad thing

I've been to both place at least a couple of times, and I'd go with CC. Tubby Dog is a funkier hang out place, but if it's strictly the food you're interested in then CC is the place.

Tubby dog is a place you go at 2am when you're drunk, CC is where you go for lunch.

What about this place?
http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/15/15751...Shoppe-Calgary

I've only ever been to Tubby Dog (Don't go when there are bands playing unless you like hipsters and not being able to eat anywhere) so I'm hoping the other places have more selections for meat condiments. Chili and bacon bits aren't enough for me.

It's a funky place not doubt. The current events commentary from the hipsters at TD made my more than a few times. The hot dog I had was overfilled with toppings and I ended up not having most of the bun. I couldn't taste the actual hot dog. The fries were very good though. If I was hammered, this would be the ideal place to stumble to. I must try Chien Chaud sometime.

Never even heard of this place. I've gotta try it next time I'm in that area.

Tubby Dog is awesome when you are drunk. The Ultimate Gripper is pure ridiculousness. Bacon wrapped dog with chili, cheese, mustard, more bacon, banana peppers, onions and then topped with fried ham. And then topped with a fried egg!
