New York Metropolitan Area:Downtowns and main hubs outside of Manhattan
There are a ton of central nodes that encompass the island of Manhattan. Far too many to swamp one thread so in an effort to make this an easier thread to enter and look through I'll highlight the largest in each major area.
Downtown Brooklyn:
Downtown Newark
Downtown White Plains
Exchange Place
Long Island City
Downtown Flushing
Downtown Yonkers
Downtown New Rochelle
Newport
Downtown Mount Vernon
Journal Square
Austin Street, the hub of Kew Gardens and Forrest Hills
Amazing!!! now imagine what the area would look like if each of these districts got one 800 footer (or an actual supertall). The new york area would beat the majority of chinese cities (if not all)....
Not only is NYC by far the biggest and most urban city in the US, but the greater NY area is also the largest collection of small urban cities in the US. The scale and quality of urbanity outside the central city is vast and mind-boggling. Thanks for showing off some of it.
Awesome pics nygirl. You definitely hit some of the more impressive urban areas first. A few more would include;
Elizabeth
Summit
Westfield
Red Bank
Morristown
Princeton
Trenton
Stamford
Bridgeport
Poughkeepsie
Newburgh
Middletown
New Haven
Danbury
Waterbury
Hempstead
Jamaica
Peekskill
Paterson
Passaic
Fort Lee
Hackensack
New Brunswick
Plainfield
The Tri-State(Quad-State actually) area (imo aka Metropolis) is so massive it's ridiculous.
