A bit of a shocker. Sounds like they made the decision to leave, and weren't pushed. Replacement speculation anyone?

I'll definitely miss Bill and Pamela though.

Although not there to see it, the thought of Pamela leaving really chokes me up. Beauty, brains and culture and warmth. One of our best-ever imports from the United States. (Detroit, if I recall correctly)

Pamela Martin once told me "I have to report this, the toilet is overflowing in the women's washroom."

All I could think of was "Well who better to report it than you?" She went beet red, probably hoping not be recognized.

also, hard to believe that pamela martin's been around town for 20+ years. this is basically home for her. wow.

I always thought it was crazy that Hillary Clinton and William Shatner hosted a TV show here and no one outside Vancouver noticed. We'll miss them!

As for Colleen Christie possibly being "shafted", I'm guessing that she's probably content with 5 PM news... remember that on weekdays CTV broadcasts two back to back news programs. =O Maybe one has more prestige but in a way I think both are equal.

the 6 pm is usually the one to aim for but colleen gets to anchor the 5 pm news on her own - at 6 pm its cohosted

so she kinda gets her own show instead of sharing the limelight that is local news

She did news at CFOX for several years, and co-hosted the afternoon show with Bill Courage for a while (which won its segment ratings at the time).

In Tamara's days CFOX basically filled the market share now occupied by Z95/Virgin.
