COPENHAGEN [12] - hkskyline's Euro 2007 Tour (Palace and Mermaid)

After a hot dog lunch in Nyhavn, I walked it off to Amaliehaven.

Inside, there were plenty of details to admire and examine.

Let's take this out to the country fair.

Marmorkirken is just steps away from the palace in an axis with the opera house. It looked like a Parthenon-style monument.

Larsens Plads sits right along the coast from the palace. I strolled along here towards the Little Mermaid.

The opera house looked interesting, but its location was not so convenient to walk to, so I examined it from afar in the end.

Several ship models lined this part of the waterfront ... Maersk's headquarters?

There it is! A bit disappointing after a very long walk though from Kongens Nytorv.

The park around the statue seems to resemble an old fortification.

That is indeed the Mærsk HQ and yeah the Little Mermaid is tiny and sucks ( what tourists see in it I really don't get ) - it's btw on it's way to Shanghai ( the Expo ) right now
