What are your best photos from 2009?

What are your best photos from 2009?

Chose maximum 3 photos from each place –city, town, or natural landscape-you have visited the past year that you like the most. Less than 3 photos would be too hard to choose, I think.

Rules: All photo must have been taken in 2009. And they must have been shot outdoors.
You can choose max one location that is not a city, but as many locations as you want, as long
as you have visited them in 2009. They must not be in order.

Please note that it is no competition.

My chosen photos:

nice pics Nightsky, especially Vienna.

Calgary
Calgary is a great place to call home. I love the cool dry air, sunny skies, and warm chinook winds in the winter, and the feeling of a dynamic energy propelling the city. I wasn't born or raised in Calgary, but I have roots here as my dad was born and raised in Calgary and my mom came from near by High River.

Montreal
I consider Montreal my home town as I was mainly raised there. I love it but I had never gone back until this July for the Jazz Festival.
I plan to go back and spend more time there and visit the Eastern Townships again.

Bowen Island British Columbia
I rented a house on Bowen Island for July and August and then November and December. I haven't met my landlady yet and she trusted me enough to not charge me a damage deposit.

Vancouver, host city for the 2010 Winter Olympics and one of the world's most beautiful cities in my opinion

I have really enjoyed my time in the Vancouver area in 2009. Today is my last day here, but I'll have to come back as there is so much to see and do in Beautiful British Columbia.
My first time in Vancouver was when I was 4 years old and I don't remember much of the trip but I do remember my Uncle Squid (everyone called him that!) borrowed a Rolls Royce from a rich friend and arranged to pick up my mother and me on the tarmac at the airport when we arrived! He even had a cap on like a chauffeur would wear. My first and only time riding in a Rolls, and I've been slumming in Chevys, Chryslers, and Toyotas ever since.

on Boxing Day there was a line between fog and sun, it was a beautiful effect

HAPPY 2010 forumers!

Entertaining thread Nightsky and great stuff everyone. So much variety in what we were doing this year.

While this doesn't cover everywhere I was or even that many photos, these stick out to me from this year.

These are great pictures, everyone! I like the stories added to the photos.
For 2010 I plan to visit Berlin (incredibly haven't been there yet for more than 2 hours), Amsterdam, Rotterdam and the Hague, and if everything goes well, New York...

I suppose for city stuff, this will have to do. I'm sorry the pics are a bit large, please forgive me. I'm not a HUGE post-processing photographer. I tend to let people see things as I see them. I want what I put on the web to show people what my eyes were looking at when I took it. Perhaps this year, I will take the dive into HDR and all that cool stuff?!

BTW, you guys are amazing photographers and my hat's off to you! You are in inspiration with your work. That goes for everyone in this thread!!!

2009 was a real lazy year for me, I had lost my travel lust so stayed most of my vacationsinside the borders... I do like the relaxing time, but in hindsight I feel like I wasted some oppotunities to go see the world.. something I'm planning to change here in 2010..

Anyways enough chatter from me, here's some pics of the places I did make it to in 2009..
