Looks like good old-fashioned Americana! Some of those Pennsylvania county seats have wonderful historic courthouses.

I would love to visit there. I love how there is no urban sprawl.

Wellsboro is pretty nice. If you are looking forward to exploring Wellsboro and taking pictures there, be sure to check out Coudersport, the little palce that the seat of the county to the west. It's very isolated, but it's a nice place. I think it's closer to the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania than Wellsboro.

Yes, there are a lot of nice little courthouses up in Northern Pennsylvania: Wellsboro, Ridgway, Warren, Smethport, Coudersport, and others.

What's your top 6? I don't even know if there are 7 towns in Tioga County. If course, my sarcasm meter might not be working right now.

Actually, these are from August 2007. I never got around to them for some reason.

Coudersport is about 35 miles from the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania; Wellsboro is about 10 miles from the canyon.

great looking town! being way up in the far north away from the state's rusty old industrial areas, i suppose this region never experienced the boom and bust of other former industrial towns. wellsboro seems to have quietly maintained a healthy, stable, vibrant downtown, unlike those industrial towns whose fortunes (for better or worse) were tied to coal, steel, etc.

is this true? or is there another reason why this town looks completely different from other small PA towns marred by dilapated buildings and vacant storefronts.
