WalkThere

WalkThere

I just came across this site via a blog post on Raise The Hammer. As a pedestrian, this is a great site! I hope it carries on improving over time as more destinations are added. Looking through the options, under "Computers and Electronics" the ones along King Street are all missing. Hopefully this is only temporary and it evolves over time.

Totally separate note, I've just noticed that this is showing the neighbourhood names, how long as google been doing that?

I'm not sure if this was the post I was thinking of that mentioned this website or another, but I like WalkThere. I found WalkScore today, another site on the same topic. I like the concept of it and how thorough it is, as well as all the articles/features they include.

However, when I typed in my own address, it was remarkably accurate. But when I typed in a few sample intersections, it needed exact information (e.g. King St W and James St S, not King and James). I also found a couple categories (grocery stores, clothing) were a little nonspecific.

Shouldn't that dude's bike shop at Cannon and James be listed on there under Bicycle Shops

I think that it just plugs in Google info for the most part, so whatever's in there will get pulled up.

I also noticed Google Maps added walking and public transit directions in addition to driving.
