Tucson Meet in Late December?

I'm thinking about heading down to Tucson on the Saturday after Christmas (December 27). Anyone interested in meeting up and walking around downtown and some of the neighborhoods around there (and maybe the UofA)? Anyone from Phoenix interested in carpooling down?

Okay, I reckon not many Phoenix forumers would be interested since December 27 is the day of that huge light rail free ride thing (I'm probably going to have to be there myself since both my parents work in Mesa and will have booths set up at the line's terminus)

Anyone up for Friday December 26?

Okay, so this is about a week away. Anyone else interested? I'm probably just going to go around downtown and the university taking pictures...

Friday, Dec. 26, is a possibility for me. What time do you want to leave?

I dunno, I was thinking sometime around 8 or 9 in the morning. I'm on the very south end of Phoenix, so its only about an hour or so to Tucson from where I live.

Maybe. My brother wants to go because a friend of his from college is in Tucson from Houston visiting family and he wants to meet up for lunch...got a little more complicated than I anticipated...

How was the weather in Tucson this last weekend? I heard there was rain and snow in the mtns. How was the meet?

Buckeye Native....yes I´m military but don´t tell the Colombianos that. I´m working at the US embassy. Kinda cool wearing civilian clothes to go to work. Bogota is a nice city and there are some hot azz chicas here!! I'LL miss tha lovely ladies here but I have my family that I gotta go home to b-c I miss them like crazy. Anyways, if there is a spring meet in the works I´d like to be a part of that.

It rained pretty much all day on Friday, and it was damn cold (my hands were freezing). I don't think the temperature ever got above 50 degrees.

Go figure, but IMHO, Tucson looks good in the rain. Blue skies disappeared somewhere around Marana...but the cloud cover over the mountains was pretty cool to look at. I have the photos that I want to post selected, but between studying for the GRE, applying to grad school, applying for jobs in California and getting ready for all the Fiesta Bowl festivities next weekend (since my beloved Buckeyes are in the game), I'm not going to have too much time the next couple of weeks to gussy up the pics in Photoshop to make them "presentable"

Sweet....and I agree...Tucson does look good with clouds and even in rain. Can't wait to see the pics. It rains too much here in Bogota but luckily it is hitting the dry season here. I saw on the tucson.com website that there were pics of snow in the mountains and something like 3 inches fell in Oracle.

No kidding.....I thought there was talk of possibly expanding the chain to phoenix, but that was about a year ago. I think Lucky Wishbone is another Tucson chain that should head to Phx. Don´t know if you have had LuckyWishbone but that is some kick azz fried chicken. I´ll eat their chicken over KFC or Popeyes anyday. Making me hungry now
