Lakeside MB

Summer has to be my favorite season, for many reasons.

One of which is going to the beautiful beaches around Winnipeg..

For those who have gone to the lake this year .. please post some pics, and make me green with envy.

I completely agree, Manitoba is a naturally beautiful province. I think far too many take their view from crossing on the trans-Canada only.
Even many locals don't appreciate whats in our own backyard. Heres a few images, not a lot of sand but still mainly of Lake Winnipeg.

Matlock Pier...

East side of the lake...

Victoria Beach...

Not the Lake, but close by...Oak Hammock Marsh...

Keng,

Without a doubt, those are some of the best pictures of Manitoba's natural beauty that I've ever seen. Seriously, those belong in a promotional pamphlet or something. I made the second shot my desktop background.

Well done sir !

Ditto!

And people say that the Rocky Mountains are THE only beautiful spot in Western Canada?

Thanks all for the comments....

I agree totally, Manitoba is beautiful. We may not have mountains or an ocean nearby, (Excluding Hudsons Bay) but there is great scenery, sometimes it just takes a little effort to see it, and Lake Winnipeg and Manitoba are very close substitutes to oceans.

For Sledhead, the first couple I posted are from Hecla Island, forgot to mention. Here are a couple more, all Hecla Island.

The old ferry dock, before the causeway was built...

We have our share of big hills/rocky outcrops in Manitoba. The Riding Mountains and Whiteshell-Nopiming Provincial parks are a few that come to mind. Each offer some spectacular views.
