I know there was one in Salt Lake City, but photos of it seem to be rare. I believe it was around 11 stories, and probably demolished in the 60's/70's.

Not Demolished - Yet
Atlanta's 1927 Medical Arts Building has been vacant and deteriorating for at least 20 years. Recent plans for conversion to a boutique hotel by promoter Dallas Austin have fallen through, and it is on the Atlanta Preservation Center's list of most endangered historic buildings.

Salt Lake's, which was demolished in the 70s for a high-rise commercial tower.

The Dallas and Fort Worth stories are the saddest so far.

The Fort Worth one - what a crime. Why did they demolish it?

Our Medical Arts Building came close to being torn down in the 70s. I don't know much about it (second-hand details from my Uncle who works for the city), but it was saved when the City moved it's municipal offices in there back in '77.

I know the thread is "demolished", but I figure "almost" deserves a mention. I'm glad they didn't tear down this gem of a building.

Built in 1931, 71m tall and (I think) 16 floors.

My Uncle's office is up on 11, and the view is pretty nice. He can see Mt Rainier on a clear day. Check out the detail in the stone above the lobby entrance.

Way more character than most modern high rises.

The people who approved that should be tossed in a pool full of angry SSP forumers.

(I can't get a direct link to the picture).

It was demolished soon after that picture was taken to make way for the 2'nd & Seneca building (sometimes refered to as the Ban Roll-On Tower because the round tower and green dome on top).

Pittsburgh's Medical Arts Building was built in 1932. Very art deco and very dirty due to years of steel mill soot.

The survivors (and the demolished) are lovely buildings. These treasures need to be preserved; if not as office buildings, converted into condos.
