See Part 1 for a short description of the neighborhood and photos of the eastern half. The photos in this thread generally cover the western part of Northwest.
Starting with 23rd Ave…
Lots of houses converted to shops along 23rd…
The neighborhood west of 23rd…
I went to Chapman Elementary School… but it was in Connecticut…
The northern part of Northwest is an industrial part of town…
This area looks great, nice houses and shopping districts. Thanks for these tours.

Great stuff.... although you left out the Laurelwood Brewpub which I know is somewhere in that neighborhood.
If you ever collect enough photos, you should consider doing a Portland Brewery photo thread. I think there's enough breweries in Portland to fill up its own thread. I'd do one for Phoenix, but it would be pretty brief.
Wow, I think this is the best looking neighborhood you've posted so far. I LOVED everything I saw in these two threads. It looks like a really awesome neighborhood!
Nice coverage of both the business district and the residential areas.
Just read an interesting article about the of the local neighborhood association, formed in the late 1960s to turn the tide against what was considered urban 'renewal' back then -- destroying houses for parking lots, widening streets while narrowing sidewalks were signs of 'progress.' The founder of this group remembers city officials' reasoning: the streets were being used 85% of the time, the sidewalks 15%, so naturally the streets should be made wider ... These days anyone with this ideology would be laughed out of the room, thankfully.
