Dumbarton Oaks Garden, Washington, DC

Dumbarton Oaks is a privately-owned park in Georgetown. It is famous for its formal gardens.

Though it's still early for most of its plants to be blooming, Girlfriend and I went on Sunday for the cherry blossoms (it's one of the spots that locals go to avoid the Tidal Basin crowds).

Just so there are no questions about whether these are "city photos", here is a nice view from one of the park lawns. The spire on the right is actually a mosque minaret.

And now, the gardens.

Beautiful blossoms and great photos. Touring the Garden is one of the many highlights of Washington.

Beautiful place and a hidden jewel in Washington (Georgetown). It is actually the estate of my distant relative Ninian Beall.

Yeah, that's the mosque and Islamic Cultural Center.
