I'm actually looking for a good plumber/plumbing company as well. I have some interesting "mods" I want to make to my unit.

I've looked up Pete the Plumber, they seem to always get a good response from people. I've also looked up Clearview Plumbing and Heating. However I've never needed to utilize a plumber in the past. So hopefully someone with real world experience can enlighten us!

Im in the new home business. I have seen a lot of plumbing companys. I have found canyon plumbing to be one of the better companys. There are one of the faster companys too. Ive also heard lots of good things about Pete the Plumber.

Great Plumber

I just used a plumber who really impressed me. His name is Lorne, he is with ServiceStar Plumbing. He got to me within hours of calling, charged me a decent price and cleaned up after himself. I would recommend highly. Their number is 899-7827.

DizzyEdge, do you mean a heating pipe or a plain hot water pipe? I ask just because we had a hot water (to the tap, not from our boiler, and yes we have a boiler for central heating) froze last night and I am trying to figure out if it burst- the pipe is in a wall and descends into a very scary crawlspace- so is there anything that might not be obvious to check for? The water is coming through fine now.

Canyon Plumbing has a good rep, even back when I was taking plumbing class in high school.

Arpis just intalled a new furnace back in Nov at my place. They were great. Right on time, were very professional and quick. I guess they got the contract for a lot of the plumbing/heating in the Bow.

Furry, well both the cold and hot water kitchen pipes were frozen. On the cold one the metal braided pipe leading to the taps had popped off the metal nipple.. the hot one hadn't.. apparently it let out it's pressure through the pipe wall. I put a space heater on low under the sink, and about 4-5 hrs later both thawed out.. and I got the hear what sounded like a shower inside my basement ceiling.. fun times. I ended up fixing it myself.. there was *zero* insulation between the pipes and the outside foundation.. good times. I realize that doesn't help you much.. all I can think of is slowly thaw the pipes with a heater and see what happens.. just make sure you don't use a torch or anything too hot, steam can build up and rupture the pipe. Hairdryer might do the trick..

Thanks everyone for the tips though, I'll make a note of those recommended people for future.

No showers here, but now I do know what to look for and where- thanks and good luck!
