SSP City-City Discussion/Planning/Comments

Hi ,

So we have seen a lot of new members since the category change of cityscape , I thought it might be a good time to start a new compilation city with input from as many SSP modelers as possible .

The city will be 100% hand drawn , It should contain mostly modern and even post modern styles , meaning while it has to look and be new it does not have to be wrapped in glass to every edge .

'Land lots' will be posted on Google Warehouse and can be downloaded from there after you make a choice from the map .

I think it would be good to include the winning entries from our comps to the city also (including past winners if possible)

Thanks.

Good idea. You can count on me to provide the 60's/70's corporate box.

Yummi. Pie. Yesterday was my first time ever ice-skating.

Anyways, sounds fun. I will do whatever comes to mind. So you will make the blocks in the city?

We need everything from stadiums to bridges , even parks

I was thinking for the map we could all post a pic or drawing of an area then vote for which to use

hmm... Can we do more than 1 terrain?

Also, I can add a poll to this thread so we don't start a new one.

Fox , you know me

I hope this isn't confusing but here are 12 textures i came up with .
The first pic is of the palette which is here in 3D warehouse http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehou...13a5bdd97fb6b5 , download it and use the materials
The next pic is what they will look like rendered .
If anyone wants to add others let me know,i'll asign it a material name and add it to the palette model .

Yeah, but here's my "entry."

It's crap:

Green are parks, complexes and residential areas. Light Blue is Downtown. Blue is a space for stadiums. And gray are bridges.

Nice , we'll wait and then do a mini poll or something

I added 4 transparent glass textures to 3D warehouse but please only use them for small areas like awnings etc. because they take a long time to render

http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehou...fc25fbc65c8a36

We can have more textures but they need to be painted in normal colors in SU then adjusted in Kerk because the smaller the SU file the better , using the palette makes sure everyone uses the same materials.
So if anyone wants to add a texture give me a description of it and then i create a color to add to the palette ,and then adjust it in kerk

This is an example of the terrain but the real one will have curves on the corners and painted lines and be to scale
