Great set of pictures. I will be there at the end of the month and I cannot wait! It will be my first time visiting, can you reccomend any good spots/sights that only locals would know about?I want to party. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Beautiful...

A bit larger would be so nice and appreciated... forget this size please.
I would probably spend 2X more time on the thread to appreciate the little details of each photo.

Thank'S Kilgore

Serge, I normally would post these photos in larger sizes, but the application I use to post them from Flickr, quickr pickr, is no longer able to retrieve the photos in their largest format. I have no idea why. I guess I could copy-and-paste each photo location myself but that will take a bit of time.

There's tons to do. In terms of neighbourhoods, be sure to explore downtown but also check out the whole Plateau, Mile End and the area around the Jean Talon Market. Those are must-see. If you message me I can give you more specific neighbourhood information.

For bars and restaurants, buy a copy of "Resto a go-go" or "Cheap Thrills" when you're in town. Also pick up the two English alt-weeklies (local equivalents to the Georgia Straight), the Mirror and Hour, for information on shows and other goings-on. They're also available online at hour.ca and montrealmirror.com.

Montreal is such an amazing city. You capture it so well. I'll be there for the jazz festival next summer. Have you ever attended Kilgore?

Re-visited. Thank's Chris.

Year after year... better and better.
This is a mess of beauty.

And this... reminds me a bit of Albany NY

Goodness, Chris, you've really outdone yourself this time. You bring out the nooks and crannies of your city.

Excellent! The larger pics are infinitely preferable to the smaller ones!
This is my favorite.............

Awesome Thread!
According to Lonely Planet : "Cities like Montreal don't happen very often".

(You should include some pictures of the Cegep du Vieux-Montreal in your Latin Quarter part, it would be awesome!)

Incidentally, that sad-looking little Victorian rowhouse is home to an excellent Szechuan restaurant on the second floor.

Great set! Hochelaga & Maisonneuve always come up with such surprising treasures...
