Brooklyn, NY - Boerum and Cobble Hills, Columbia St. Waterfront

I've been lurking around this forum for a while, so I thought I'd put together a post of my new neighborhood. The tour starts on Bergen Street in Boerum Hill, goes through Cobble Hill down to the Columbia Street waterfront and then back through Cobble Hill to Smith Street.

A very nice collection of pictures. Nothing says New York like Brooklyn.

Nice first photos. You're very lucky to live in such a nice neighborhood.

Have you tried Alma, on Columbia Street (twelth from the last photo)? The rooftop terrace is great, and it's the best Mexican in the neighborhood.

I love Alma - when you can get a table. The savory pie place next door is really good too.

Funny thing is I stayed at a Bed & Breakfast last October on Bergen Street. It looks like the same neighborhood. I walked one evening over to Juniors, but that was long walk. As I got closer to Atlantic Avenue and near Fulton the streets are nearly deserted other than there are a lot of bums preparing their beds for the night. Thankfully I'm not easily intimadated, and no one really says anything to you. Overall I like this area, and yes I would live in this hood if I lived in NYC.

Here are a few pictures I took, see if you reconize were I was. BTW I love your pictures.

Excellent photos, kvnbklyn. I'm moving to Brooklyn (the Clinton Hill area) for college this week.

Man you're good, so many of the blocks look similar I would have a hard time telling from the the other in photos. Anyway I really enjoyed staying a few days in that neighborhood.

Love the pics! Something seems so warm and fuzzy about this concrete jungle.

On another note... I can't help but look for Burt and Ernie, Oscar, or Big Bird in the pictures.

It doesn't get much more urban than that.

Great pictures. Nothing like some Brooklyn brownstones.

Did you happen to stay at the Escape Guesthouse on Bergen? How was it, by the way? I'm curious for when the parents come to visit.
