Ok now what?

This will be a very slow progressing city, as it is still a giant grey slab.

Have you checked the tutorials on sketchup? They'll get you started, and you should end up picking a few things up on your own as you go along.

Oh there are tutorials? Thanks! That should help me a lot! I'm a visual learner, so I should pick up fairly quickly.

No, I didn't know how to put it in the first place. I'm going to do the tutorials on the SketchUp website tomorrow. So expect the first update tomorrow or Friday.

I sat there staring at my computer screen like a deer in headlights at first. Then I checked the tutorials and I picked it up really quickly.


On SketchUp in the help menu, click on "self-paced tutorials" to get a start. when that's done, go to the help menu and check out the "video tutorials" to go in depth on how to get going in sketchup.

Great! It's nice to see that you're trying SketchUp out for yourself, it's really simple once you learn the basics. I can't wait to see some shots!
