Interesting views. Is it actually possible for public to get into the 2IFC?

Not to steal your question, HKskyline, but yup, it is, but it can be a bit of a hassle. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority has a Library and museum on the 55th floor, which is open to the public - but you've gotta report to the desk in the lobby of the building and let them scan your passport - they'll give you a visitors pass, and you can head on up.

the ones with some light in them look very peaceful. were they taken in the morning?

Yes, they were taken from 2 IFC, in both the morning and in the afternoon.
