The Penny Lane rendering you have there is a wee bit out of date. That was from before the height increases. Here's a newer one:

Agreed, that one IMO has the least chance of being built at the height they want.

Penny Lane while proposed is said to be changing substantially, and most likely downsized and/or changing the mix of uses on the site. The 2 million sq ft they proposed will not go anywhere without major, major lead tenants. I think they realized that tenant wasn't there at this time (I suspect they were trying to lure EnCana or Imperial but failed).

Personally I consider this a stale proposal, at least in its current form. They've said it has gone back to the drawing board. Not disappointed at all, this and Palliser Square are my least favourite of any of the office proposals.

Also, I believe City Centre was knocked down in height too, so that one will move down the list. However, FCC2 will slot in there around #7.

too bad it's all about height, because I don't think that necessarily translates into quality.

although it's much shorter, the new Manitoba Hydro building is one of Canada's top new towers U/C IMO.

will have the highest LEED cert./green rating in Canada when complete.

it's amazing how small Trump's footprint is... and it's so close to Scotia. I wonder how many metres apart they are as they rise (assuming Trump gets built).

Whistler, here is the better Aura rendering: http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/4457/502092kd1.jpg

oh, and just to mention that #14 has been redesigned. It will no longer incorporate the deco Concourse building (it'll be restored as part of the development I think). I don't know if the height has changed.

As well as Penny Lane being a stale proposal, in it's most current form, the west tower will certainly not be 600 feet. The difference between the East and West towers is 9 floors, and the East Tower is 664 feet...the west tower is closer to about 560-ish feet - well off that list.

That Richmond-Adelaide looks very similar to the "Bay-Adelaide" I recall seeing proposed for at the end of the 90's in downtown...is it the same building - just shorter? Or is this truly a different building?

no, they're different buildings. Richmond and Adelaide are different sites (they're both east/west streets perpendicular to Bay). R-A, then B-A:

maybe it's the incorporation of those older buildings that has you confused. R-A has been redesigned and it will no longer incorporate that white building (and the other I think).

That Surrey building has already been axed.... in two. The developer now wants to build two 40 story towers instead, which is still very good for Surrey. In fact Surrey has at least 10+ buildings over 30 stories proposed or under construction with at least 4 of them being over 40 stories and they are all clustered in the Whalley area.
