Walking around Norfolk Part II

It was hard waking up to do this one. It's been a tough week. However I think I got a few good shots in. I will try and do the beach next weekend. I gotta get my practice in. I will be going to DC in a month for few days for work. My poor camera is gonna get a good work out there since I have never been there before. These were a little earlier in the morning than last week so the light was harder to manage but oh well. And yes they are all downtown.

Hope you enjoyed.

IIRC, most of that has been there for a long while.

Now the houses across the one-lane/one-way street from the MacArthur Center....those are new. I don't remember seeing these before:

lol.

a real navy town.

they are all medium sized cities, but are close together geographically...Norfolk happens to be the commercial center yes, but I would not recommend going over to Portsmouth and telling them they are not a city...might get an ass kickin'.

Norfolk lookin good, been a long time since I was down there...in my Navy days.

Hehe, sure they are. They are all independent "city" states that love to infight and hate to cooperate with each other on even the simplest things.

I lived in Hampton Roads for 7 looooong years until I finally escaped. I've lived in Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, and Norfolk. Of all of the "cities" Norfolk is by far the only one that gets any relevance in my book.

Sorry thats no insult to those who live there!! I have a lot of friends from back there and many share my opinion.

But anyway...Yay for Virginia Beach on developing a "downtown" and Yay for Norfolk on it's continued development skyward!!

Cool pics and extensive tour. Great job nav, Norfolk getting some good rep. Glad you threw in that pic of the big tower in Portsmouth too. I was wondering why no pic of the "Dogs and Sailors Keep Off The grass" signs.

Thanks.
