Richmond - The Fan, two train stations

The Fan:

Pics are a few weeks old, obviously. Also: Haha!

Monument Boulevard:

Richmond...well... let's move on.

Broad Street Station:
AKA Union Station. This is now the Science Museum of Virginia.

Main Street Station:
Recently refurbished by Amtrak, now once again serving trains.

I've been a fan of the Fan District lately. Best Richmond post I have seen.

Dandy set Cirrus. Monument Blvd is a pretty area. Guess I'm gonna have to get down to Richmond for a tour one of these days. Thanks for the pics.

fabulous. The rightful southern end of the Northeast Corridor/Fall Line cities. I'd love to see electric train service extended there.

dear god, that station looks like it belongs in Venice. If only midwesterners cared about trains as much as those living out East...

The Fan is FANtastic! I'm sure you know that Monument Avenue was inspired by Commonwealth Avenue in Boston. The Fan is in many ways, a younger version of Back Bay.

That neighborhood looks like it could be found in cities further up I-95. The train station is very nice.

They need to ditch the Confederate stuff....

why? just so there can be some PC, glossed over history just like everywhere else? because some people might be "offended" by historic relics? to help forget how badly the city (and several others...Atlanta, Columbia, Charleston) were damaged during the war?
