Considering the density around it, those upper floor units should have pretty safe views.

[QUOTE=Harley613;10018167]Folks...we have a ClumpBreaker...

My middle finger is indeed taller than the rest!

Kidding aside, this and the rest of the project will have some cool vista from the library and pimisi station etc.

Did we get confirmation that what is being built here is the 3rd matching tower with the same height and design we were originally shown?

Hope they use the same quality of materials and workmanship as M+M, but I'm not confident based on the AC Marriott.

Perhaps they will allocate more resources to this when the other two are more progressed ?

It seems to be taking extra time because they have to dig out all the concrete and rebar from the old bank foundation.

Just an update on the status of this Project. Work will resume in Late February/Early March of 2024. Just wanted to point that out before anyone starts to assume this project is not moving forward. Also as Harley mentioned early on in this thread, it should be titled Renaissance Ottawa as that is the Branding of this building.

Thank you good sir for the update. I'll correct the title accordingly.

Why on hold or no progress until then?

There are a few reasons including permit issuance delays as well as timing with Marriott on opening multiple projects in a row including AC, & 126 York. Lastly, logistics with the 400 Albert project. It is not on hold at all, just delaying for these reasons mentioned.

One more item to add. This has been on previous discussions regarding Amenity spaces/Mechanical penthouse areas. Renaissance Ottawa is now considered to be a 36 floor building according to Building Code Division B 3.2.1.1.

As in other threads, the topics and discussions of not counting amenity spaces as a floor is incorrect if it falls under the clauses mentioned in that section of the code.

Not counting an amenity floor as a floor is also completely ridiculous, regardless of code

Website still says 35 floors, so I'll leave it for now. Once it's done, if we count 36 occupiable floors, I'll make the change.

I'm incredibly curious as to whether that double height 17th floor will have the pool,restaurant, and bar. I'm very confident that it is the separation between the Marriott 230 room hotel and 270 apartments. I imagine they will share this amenity floor.
