Does the Pearl have finished model suites? I am just curious about how people can get in to take pictures? Whatever the case, I am happy to see interior shots.
They don't have any that are finished yet. The farthest along units still only have their gyprock walls up, no floors or lighting yet or even elevators yet. They are however showing the building to prospective tenants. You just have to set something up on their website and they are happy to take you around the building and show you some units as long as you don't mind taking the stairs.
Thanks for the update BakerStreet. Welcome to the forum!
This project makes the approach into downtown look so much more urban than in the past:
(Google Street View, 2009)
Thank you alps! I've been lurking for a very long time. I think this building will (hopefully) lend itself to conneting Gottingen Street with the downtown.

I hate to be one of those guys but: it needs to be taller!

LOL
I've walked past a couple times recently... the scale feels decent. I suspect a storey or two more wouldn't hurt, but something much taller would look weird with the low-rise sprawly police station and staples so close (the taller towers on Brunswick actually form a nice backdrop, I think).
I really like how this one is turning out. The "swoop" isn't near as ridiculous now that the walls are up and it looks less exaggerated. Materials are really nice. They did as good a job with the sloping grade as I could expect on that site. Overall a great example of solid mid-rise development.
I still can't imagine having my bedroom and my soaker tub on the second storey adjacent to a full wall of glass facing the street...
Whether people like this development or not, it is a real eye-catcher. And it didn't need to be a high-rise to stand out. I think it will probably catch people's attention as much as the new Central Library.
