Agreed. Salesforce really dominates in that image.

Fantastic: I can't wait for that fence to come down and reveal the plaza, even incomplete.

Winter 2017/Spring 2018 is my guess.

There will be, of course, one or two very tall buildings immediately near the Salesforce (Oceanwide and 550 Howard) but there will also be this grouping (or some of it as the build-out proceeds). I don't know to what degree they may be visible from the Bay:

Should be visible in that photo, in the area next to the right edge of the ship on the left side.

Views of the lobby area from street level. Based on the giant concrete pumper that was maneuvering into place last night (not pictured), they're probably pouring the plaza this week.

Why does a plaza contain so much layered rebar?

And Salesforce if you're listening: please axe the gondola and just put in an elevator.

Part of the garage is beneath it.

View from the West in the Civic Center

At last the windows on the southwest corner are being in stalled! Three more floors from the crown to be installed - should happen probably this week.

I really like that the roof is solid and sealed, originally I thought it was going to be left open. For me, Pelli's Gran Torre in Santiago design feels much too open, exposed, or even un-sturdy. For that reason I'd didn't initially think the steel mesh top floors would be a good fit, but now after seeing them closer to their final form I love them, I think it adds detail and sophistication, plus the lights will be amazing!

It also gives me hope, even if this thought is unrealistic, of a future installation of a viewing deck up there. If it was completely open to the elements, it would probably be much harder.
