Ex NB Premier Shawn Graham might provide an example of what might be available.

Like JT, Shawn got his job because his father was a high profile politician. Before politics, he was employed as a high school gym teacher. Like JT, his reign was a disaster. Shawn himself was glib and vacuous (again like JT).

Once he was kicked out of office, he was unemployed for a while. No corporate directorships were offered. The federal Liberals finally took pity on him and made him a low level trade representative somewhere in China (not Beijing, Shanghai or Hong Kong). He eventually got tired of his banishment and returned to Canada. You occasionally see him on CBC TV here in NB participating on pundits panels. I'm not sure what he is doing otherwise.

For some reason, he is still pretty well thought of outside of Canada, he probably has opportunities elsewhere if he wants to leave the country. I don't know if Obama has a Foundation but I can see something along those lines. Clinton's foundation was the first thing that came to mind. There's always Ambassador to what's left of Ukraine.

Justin Trudeau is not dumb. Before he entered politics he was doing his master's for Environmental Engineering at the University of Montreal.

He quit school to take advantage of his last name and entered politics.

His problem is he got too comfortable being Prime Minister and didn't believe he had a best before date.

Yeah, I could see a money-laundering foundation a la Clinton.

Trudeau is not "well thought of" outside of Canada. Very few pay much attention to Canada, similar to how Canadians don't pay much attention to other countries apart from the United States, but for those who do know a few things about Canada, the British, Dutch and Australians come to mind, he's viewed as a complete laughing stock.

Haven't you ever seen him try to answer questions? Every answer is punctuated with "uh", "err", "umm" and "well", he's like the kid that's being asked about a book he never read so yeah there's plenty of evidence to show he's stupid and that's before we even get into many of his ridiculous, woke policies. There's no evidence he would have gotten his masters either, in fact I highly doubt it

You're right about him getting into politics simply to take advantage of his lineage though But in fairness to him he does have nice hair

I was getting into a debate about what comes next for Justin Trudeau in the future. Some people say he will find a new career path and others question what is next for him.

What does this board think, when it comes to Justin Trudeau's next move?
Having spent the last 10 years pretending to care about Canada (complete with long dramatic pauses every time he gave a speech) he should go back to teaching drama. He should do the whole blackface thing again too just for shits and giggles

By the way, back in 2015 Trudeau campaigned on the slogan "Real Change" which is one of the most accurate slogans i've ever seen because change was all Canadians were left with after a decade of him as PM

338Canada's projections have been updated today. As of this post, the website hasn't changed but their social media post has the latest:

Quote:
338Canada federal update | March 2, 2025

---------------majority: 172 seats
🔵CPC 160
đź”´LPC 139
⚜️BQ 28
đźź NDP 14
🟢GPC 2

338 Sunday Update → https://338canada.ca/p/338-sunday-update-the-liberal-surge
Under that scenario, the next government would largely depend on who the Bloc chooses to support.

If you look at the Min/Max bars, the LPC are now kissing majority territory (maxing out at 172 seats), while the CPC is now well under 200 seats in their best case scenario (192 seats).

Last December, I remember reading here (in one of the threads) someone suggested that Trudeau would prorogue parliament and step down so the LPC would have enough time to pick a leader.

At the time, I think many of us expected if that happen, it was still a bandaid on a gushing wound. the new Leader would be a sacrifice for the cause basically.

I don't think anyone expected what we're seeing now.

Damn, what a crazy couple of months it has been... and it isn't slowing down.

After reading some of the post comparing PP with Trump, my blood is boiling.

The Liberal's campaign of trying to paint PP as just a mini-Trump is insulting in the extreme. Even for the Liberals, this is a new low and enough to make me not vote for them for that single reason. Trump is a narcissistic, undemocratic, irrational, dictatorial, racist, misogynistic convicted criminal and PP is absolutely NONE of those things. Full stop. You may have some policy differences with the man but he profoundly believes in democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.

Anyone who thinks Trump or PP have anything in common knows shockingly little about either one.

Saying they’re the same is just as ridiculous as saying they have nothing in common. The truth is somewhere in the middle.

Wait… Liberals have been all out in full campaign mode for the last 8 weeks and they STILL aren’t leading in at 338?

Besides the PP is Trump of the North, what are they campaigning on? 3 years of deficits, continue taxing industry. Signalling for corporations to re-locate to the US? (That’s what our next PM’s actions suggest).

This next federal election is going to be real entertaining.

Cons need to seriously grapple with why this is happening rather than mocking it and then make a rapid change in direction. PP mimicking Trump with his “Canada First” slogan shows how absolutely tone deaf they are.

Sorry but… please explain, what is wrong with “Canada First” how does that in anyway mimick Trump? You want don’t want Canada to be priority? Carney’s slogan should be “Brookfield’s shareholders first”

You can’t do an MEng without having a BEng.

After hr quit teaching he went on to pursue a BEng, which he dropped out of. He then pursued a Masters in Environmental geography, which he also dropped out of. Neither of those have onerous admissions criteria.

Maybe if Pierre Poilievre acted more like Doug Ford the Conservatives would not be in this situation in the first place.

Lucky for them is that Mark Carney can still screw this up for the Liberals.

Tough to compare. Doug Ford has been in power to defend his government. PP has been in opposition to hold the government accountable.

Pierre Poilievre has Donald Trump sympathizers in his caucus. A large portion of this base likes Donald Trump.

Doug Ford and Justin Trudeau share the same voters.

Where are the stats for “a large portion” ? I’d honestly like to know. Are we talking 50%, 30, 20%…

And when you say sympathizers, do you mean this “large portion” actually agrees with what Trump is doing to Canada?
