Uh, no. There are height and lot coverage maximums and setback minimums.

Steel framing like that requires a crane to be installed.

I’ve been a lurker for a while, and wasn’t planning to open an account or anything but cannot sit idly and watch people support this kind of garbage.
Houses like this on Crescent Hill are nothing but garbage for dudes with small penises. If I had it my way I would bulldoze every last house along Crescent Road and make it into something useful. These unimsginative McMansions are only monuments to oneself. ‘Hey everyone, look how much money I have’ Nothing but garbage

Somebody is jealous. lol Who gives a sh&t. It is their money and let them build whatever it it they want. Don't like it, go out and make $50 million and buy up all those houses and take them down.

I agree. Walking past this place, I noticed the house is like 4 feet from the sidewalk. I’ll press my face against his windows when it’s done.

It isn't a McMansion, just a mansion if you have to call it that. Not sure how people can criticise it when we don't even know what it's going to look like yet.

Hey Vladimir, I don’t know if you realize this or not, but you live in the free enterprise democratic nation of Canada not communist Soviet Russia circa 1917.

Let me guess you want to tax the life out of all the rich people as well don’t you? Those rich people who live along Crescent Road, deserve to be where they are, just because you are on welfare living in some squalid little rental shack somewhere in Sunalta doesn’t mean you have the right to put down people who have made a success of themselves.

A page full of quoted pictures?

C'mon folks, quoting and modifying the contents thereof is not all that difficult. If this old fart can do it, than the rest of you should be able to.

People can still have their mansions, but it’s better if said mansions are out in Springbank or some place where he land won’t be wasted. Crescent Hill is very valuable land, far too valuable to be wasted on massive houses that are barely occupied.

Who are you to decide this? I'd much rather have areas like this be SFH.

Let the market decide. If there's demand for huge condo complexes in the area some developer will buy up the land but until then I say let the owners build whatever they want.

Great answer, and thanks for supporting my argument. All of those houses would be turned into multi-family developments in about 1.3 seconds if it was up to the market to decide. The only thing keeping those houses there is zoning.

It's hard to argue with that. I don't begrudge the owners for having large homes there, but they absolutely should have no right to keep the road SFH only. Upzone it, and let more people benefit from the view. And fuck any NIMBYs that try and whine.

Cheap multifamily housing? I don't think so. Anyway, why attack the owner when it's the City making the rules? It's not like the person is breaking any laws.

You can bet if the city tried to rezone the area they'd squeal like stuck pigs. Of course, the city should still rezone it, but the richer the NIMBY, the more likely they are to get their way and the city won't fight. It's not right, but it's just how it is.

I’m only responding to your post that the market should decide. The market should decide, but refine that road to allow higher density, and see what the market decides. Every one of those single-family homes would be gone faster than the demolition dust can settle.

As far as the owners go I’m not attacking them necessarily, but I would bet that 3/4 of them are douche bags, who got their money by ripping other people off.

Five posts in and you're revealing yourself to be quite an angry person. What did the world do to piss you off so much?
