Hopefully Walgreens gets the message and makes the store 24 hours. The Candler Building will be a hotel by next year, and of course the home2suites just opened on Cone, bringing the tourists ever closer to Five Points. There is a 24hr CVS at Peachtree Center that does booming business at night.
Looks like Walgreens has a number of stores around town that are open 24 hours, so hopefully they will reconsider this one. I would have to think there are more than enough customers downtown to support those hours.

Speaking of Walgreens, they seem to be buzzing along with their new store in Brookhaven, which is a nice departure from the usual.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw these pictures but went by there yesterday and thought it seems much better in person.

If the Doraville can't move forward with funding from Intergral, I doubt Eviva go any further. Intergral is developing both projects. I say they stick with their regular apartment building like the one across from the Pencil Factory which required less funding.

Would this officially make this the tallest residential building outside of NYC in the country? I can't think of any other residential building with this much height outside of that city. Most buildings of this height are usually office buildings.

Seems so, but it must be that tall via a crown, because in Chicago there is a 73 story residential building in the 818 feet.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the 98 14th street proposal partially hotel and partially condo? So it's mixed-use, not purely residential. In that case there would be a couple taller mixed-se/residential buildings in Chicago. Still, a 920ft hotel/condo building is huge.

Well on the Midtown agenda it says 382 luxury residential units(probably condos) and 180 corporate suites. I'm not sure if the corporate suites are residential or hotel.

Wouldn't corporate suites be offices?

I was thinking the corporate suites were short-term apartments where companies house workers to do business in Atlanta...sort of like an extended stay hotel...but maybe I'm wrong.

Corporate suites are long-term rentals that are an alternative to a hotel.

Well if that's the case and it's all residential, I do believe it would be the tallest residential building in North America outside of New York City.

Corporate suites are fully furnished housing units with a kitchen usually at mid to upscale apartment buildings or complexes. I used these when I was on long term consulting projects at PwC.

Conversely, there are Extended Stay hotels. However, based on the description it leads me to believe the 98 14St Street project is all residential with 150 dedicated fully furnished apartments that lease from 1 - 11 months.

Have there been any announcements or rumors as to the # of floors at 98 14th, or are you assuming it will be fewer than 73?

A couple of relevant planning permits filed today.

23 townhomes at 96 Rogers St (Kirkwood, just south of Pullman Yards)

Lot consolidation of 4 industrial lots, 758-748 Marietta (Westside / GA Tech).

This consolidation has my attention. As much as I want to see development along Marietta between North Ave and Northside, I hope a lot of the restaurants and integrity of the area are retained.
