Depending on how much retail SLS Hotel ends up with, that could be an additional 100,000 sf of retail to add to the Peachtree/14th St area! Pretty cool!

It looks like 1138 Peachtree shrunk by 6 floors and lost half its retail space since the last DRC meeting...

It appears Drew Eckl Farnham, the current tenant of 880 West Peachtree, is relocating to the SunTrust Plaza downtown. I remember seeing permits filed a couple weeks back for renovations on 2-3 floors for them. I don't think they've formally announced a move or timeline.

This meeting is going to have height! 3 skyscrapers over 450 feet probably(one possibly over 900).

It's reasonable if you include the guest parking,>80k SF of retail, and the 150 office suites being added . You should also remember that ultra lux units in Atlanta are expected to have 2 parking spaces.Retail wrapped podium parking is nothing to complain about.

At least we know now 98 14th will start with one tower. Love that this could be 120+ stories total for 3 developments within two blocks in Midtown.

Boy... that is bleak. Thought it was gonna be a bit more upscale than that for some reason.

Looks like a soviet supplies rationing center.

I like the exposed ductwork but does it have to be so stark? Some color would be nice. I guess the lighting is standard for Walgreens, but whatever it is it's good for the neighborhood.

Mentioned this on a different forum, but heard something about ground samples getting taken a few weeks back at the Tech Square parking lot between West Peachtree and Spring. Haven't heard more about it, someone said Google was apparently potentially involved.

Likely mid-rise like the other Tech Square developments if true, but something worth noting.

It doesn't look much different than other ones in other cities. Here is a picture of the one in downtown Boston. The Boston one is a "flagship" store but I think the Atlanta store is just an "expanded" pharmacy so it's probably less fancy. At least they went all out on the exterior.

Yeah, its a lot of white inside, but its a functional pharmacy/mini-market where one is much needed. But yeah, outside looks fantastic. They cleaned up the marble so well... it looks brand new.

The interior might look better in the daytime. The Boston store has a wall of windows and high ceilings, which gives it the appearance of a lot more light.

This is a great addition to downtown living.

What are the store hours? A store like that needs to be open well into the night, if not 24 hours.

We were surprised to find this out, since we arrived at 9:55pm! I heard several customers after us ask why they closed early, just as I did. They said that maybe they would be open later if there was demand. Multiple people tried to come in as we were leaving, and were turned away. Hopefully Walgreens gets the message and makes the store 24 hours. The Candler Building will be a hotel by next year, and of course the home2suites just opened on Cone, bringing the tourists ever closer to Five Points. There is a 24hr CVS at Peachtree Center that does booming business at night.

The interior has more color than my photos convey, and I will try to get better ones. Overall, I am very excited about this addition to our neighborhood.

Hurt Building to get a Starbucks per WhatNowAtlanta.

This corner is not the main Hurt Building entrance, but the corner entrance at Hurt Park. This is going to do booming business being on the GSU cross campus corridor.

Starbucks will be great there! That whole area around the Hurt Building is pretty dead.

https://whatnowatlanta.com/food-hall-concept-from-general-muir-team-to-replace-the-spence/

Didn't see this get any play here, but could be big in pushing development even further down Spring Street.

I thought a food hall concept in the bottom floor of the Biltmore would be a good idea, but glad to see somewhere in the vicinity is getting something like it.

The store is slated to close August 20th with permitting started for LDP/demolition with the city.
