Sunny and a cold -8 at 10am. Pretty windy out there too which is making it feel quite frigid this morning. Winds will drop out in a few hours though, high of around -5 expected.

Next storm rolls in tomorrow evening. Snow to freezing rain to rain expected, should get a decent amount of melt happening over the weekend.

Apparently Halifax had had their snowiest February ever according to the weather network. But the lack of ice storms and flash freezes has made it more benign in feel compared to 2015.

-9C and sunny in Moncton at 11 AM. It was a chilly -17C this morning when I drove in to work, but -17C feels a whole lot different if it is calm and sunny. I just wore a lightly insulated jacket, partially zipped and had no gloves on, so the walk from the car to the hospital was actually quite pleasant.

No significant snow on the horizon. Some mixed precipitation Friday night. The Weather Network is predicting a substantial long term warm up next week (daily highs around +8C). Is this the end of our non-winter????

We're going to Italy in May for 3 weeks including the last 6 days in the Dolomites (around May 20). Hoping that the walking/hiking trails will be open by then. I did see somewhere online that a popular hiking path has its access road only open in early June most years (and then it costs 30 euros to park) so hopefully the winter continues as it has so far.
The Dolomites are among the most beautiful mountains in the world but 30 euros for a parking space is a steal

In fact, the Great Lakes have little ice cover

Feel bad for the custom snowblower industry guys. 15 years ago, everyone would have those sticks at the end of their driveways. Nowadays, you see them less and less.

About 5 years ago I considered getting a snowblower. Not anymore. My driveway isn't that big, plus I have two teenage boys to clear it for me. Not like they had to do dick-all this winter anyway.

11.3 and partly sunny today, the low was -1.2 and yesterday's high was 6.4.

Looks like there will be a quick shot of cold on Saturday, and then right back to spring-like conditions, possibly hitting 15 degrees by next Tuesday.

They still charge like it's 2009, so I don't feel too bad

This February has felt more like a Spring month than a winter one. It's kinda off putting, but I'm a baby when it comes to the cold so I'll take it.

Currently 7, partly cloudy and calm conditions. Very pleasant day. The air is fresh and people are out enjoying it.

Heading up to 10-11C tomorrow. Another warm spell next week for Southern ON, specifically Tuesday and Wednesday with highs of 10-15C, up to 16-17C in SW ON.

Sunny and 14C at Windsor Airport, but DT Detroit, Detroit city airport and metro airport are all 16C now. I’d imagine DT Windsor is also 16C since it just across the river and the airflow is blowing over to Detroit.

For some ungodly reason we hit 9C today. I left for a walk around 9AM when it was 0-1C to take advantage of fairly frozen ground so my walk back in a local creek would be easier. (I'm in Mississauga for a couple days)

The day started off sunny, with overcast conditions setting in by 1 or so.

I went for a decent walk, probably nearing 15KM, this was taken as I walked through the Credit Valley

4C and mainly sunny. Back to decent weather.

Low of -13C (wind chill of -21) this morning. Very big variation between morning and afternoon. 17 degrees difference is a lot for us.

The warmspot was Windsor, ON at 14.2C

Warmest low was Vancouver, BC at 7.8C

Forecast for overnight tonight is starting to look like the amount of freezing rain for St. John's will be toward the high end. But it'll be hovering at freezing so, hard to say.

It's been a good February to be away from Halifax. I'm hoping that the record snowfall is enough to cover and protect my outdoor palm tree from the below normal temps there as of late. I see on TWN this morning that Halifax is entering a period of mostly above 0c temps for the daytime and some 0c or above night too. I'm hoping that this freakish El Nino winter will end with an early spring for all of Canada.

In Lisbon the temps have been trending 5c-ish above the normal for the time of year though today is an about normal temp of 17c and it's rainy. A couple of days ago we had an excellent day in nearby Cascais:

Looks just like downtown Moncton in February!

-10C and hazy sunshine at 8 AM, but the afternoon high will be +2C

Mixed precipitation Friday night into Saturday, then a big warm up. It will be +10C by the middle of next week.

Is our pseudo-winter over? Is pseudo-spring on the horizon???
