Its about as funny as the flames fans telling us for 6 years they are cup contenders if they "just got one more key player"
It's also funny how many flames fans now want their team to lose the rest of the season so they get the best draft pick, but this comes after calling out Oiler fans for wishing the same thing the last couple of seasons.

Fucking hypocrites!!!

Wasn't as loud as the flames fans that have been booing most of the season. Lines from previous seasons flames fans "At least we were still playing meaningful games in April".

Yup, and how quickly that 8-2 Shlacking just a few weeks back was forgotten, or the 4-1 defeat before that, or how about man-handling the flames last season while they were still in the playoff hunt 6-1 and 3-1???

It's actually very rare for Flames fans to boo the team. Even during the awful 1990s years it was a seldom occurrence and this year fans understand that the team has been going through a ton of turmoil.

Did you know it's been 10 years since the Oilers have won a battle of Alberta season series?

You are a very angry guy feepa, you need to chill guy, it's just Hockey.

The Flames would have been different had they got that #1 centre, but they never did, so Iggy had to shoulder the whole load again and it didn't work, so they kept getting worse. I think everyone admits now (hindsight is always 20/20) that we should have let him go a couple years ago, but everyone here wanted to give him a shot with the Flames, is that a bad thing? I don't think so.

As for us being hypocrites, no one mocked you guys during the "fall for Hall" it was just the fact that you did it again 2 more times while taking shots at better teams, that deserves mockery. If the Flames tank again next season we will obviously want to get as good a pick as possible, but we will also be very pissed at management and want them to all go too. We certainly won't be defending it by lashing out at other teams just to make ourselves feel better.

See now that the shoe is on the other foot, you have to admit you would rather be competing for a playoff spot than the #1 draft pick. And if you want to bring up Flames - Oilers history, when was the last time the Oilers won the season series? The Flames have been mopping the floor with the Oilers for a very long time now, even sweeping the series a couple seasons back. How quickly you forget...

Oilers have a culture of losing. Period.
Don't defend it and we shouldn't worry about other teams.
We need to clean out our own house and bring in people who want to win and nothing else will suffice.

I think the Flames are in the same boat, we got a taste of winning with the cup run in '04 and a few really good seasons after that, but back to the basement...

Feeps, thanks for putting a cherry on our victory! Say hello to year 6 of the Oilers 4 year rebuild. Next up, Feaster signs Gags to a offer sheet this summer and tambo takes our Pittsburg first rounder in return.

I'd love to see Brian Burke as GM in Edmonton - the guy is so entertaining. Plus, this guy knows how to build a winning team. With all the assets that Edmonton has, he would have no problem making the proper trades (something Tambellini is incapable of doing) to acquire the missing pieces and turn the Oilers into a powerhouse overnight. With all that talent to work with, (and yet another high draft pick) surely Burke would be interested in the job.

I think Alberta has the distinction of having the 2 worst GM's in hockey.

I'd love to see what Burke could do in Edmonton. I think he could turn them into a contender as long as corporate management wasn't as smothering as in Toronto.

haha clean house, sure. you pretty much have a job for life in the Oilers organization.
they will even make up new positions to put you in if there are no openings.

got tickets to the last game against the canucks, gonna be a complete embarrassment to end the season.

Great weekend effort by the Flames' young guys. I was especially pleased with the efforts of Backlund (really rounding into NHL shape), Baertschi, and Reinhart. And Joey Macdonald looks like a guy we should be keeping around too.

With 3 1st round draft picks, plus lots of cap space to sign FAs, and some good goalie prospects in the system, next year might be better than expected.

Speaking of drafts picks, Nashville is not doing too well so we will probably have 3 top 35 picks.

We can always use the picks to move up in the draft.

I have to share a feel good story amid the carnage that is the Edmonton Oilers.

Before last nights Edmonton Calgary game...the date and I went to Ruth Chris for a steak and a couple Mojitos!! we went to the lounge and sat there at the bar wearing our blue and orange. We were sitting beside a guy drinking by himself so we just started a conversation with him. He asked if we were going to the game and if we had tickets. We said yes we were and yes we had tickets. He pulled out two tickets worth 200.00 each and said take these ones also!!!! they were far better tics than ours. We suggested we would then give ours to some fans who needed tics. Pay it forward.

My faith in humanity is restored.

And then after watching the Oilers play my faith in the Oilers Management has dissolved.

It's not that we've forgotten, it's just that it's 100% irrelevant. The losses to Edmonton last year, were just that; losses from last year, and that means nothing right now. The two losses a couple weeks back also mean zip, we were already out of the playoff race eons ago.
