Not really sure what to make of it. Still just Rumors, and speculations.

Blue Olive's second location (on Main Street) is apparently set to open in the second week of October.

Never been but have seen it.
They have one of those neon signs up this morning in front of the old Pisces's restaurant advertising that Woody's BBQ is coming.

I've seen these before in the Halifax area before but have never been to one.

I would expect with the Chateau Moncton next door that they will get a lot of business from there.

Frenchy's looks to be closed now as I don't see any cars in the parking lot anymore, I heard from someone on the weekend they were giving everything away.

I can't imagine if someone bought the property that they plan to do anything other than tear down the building that is there. It was in bad shape back when Co-op was still open and that was years ago.

It's sort of an odd shaped lot to develop due to the grade change as well.

My wife works next door so I had her check it out. They'll be closing this Wednesday and are currently discounting all of their clothes.

Would be a nice spot to re-open The Bay in downtown, not sure if The Bay is know to build brand new independent buildings or if they are in a good financial situation but I think it would be a solid location for them. (Frenchys/Old Coop location)

Interesting thought!

Unfortunately, I really can't imagine the Bay buying into this. I would love to see the store head back downtown sometime, but my crystal ball tells me that when Sears finally goes bankrupt, that the Bay will move into their space at Champlain Place........

Any chance it could be a downtown Goodlife? Their current location is great but space is bad. They could always make a move to combine the 2 gyms downtown. Far fetched, but just tossing ideas.

Not as far fetched as you think! I have heard Sobeys on Vaughan Harvey may be renovating in the new year and take over the Goodlife space!

As You said Mattyyy Both locations are good locations but the space is limited, and I don't think they can expand, and I've heard something about the old (Dooly's) Good Life location that would state that they might have to find a new location, and if VH Sobeys is expanding GLF will have to move out of there to, and the Location at 20 Record Street would be a perfect location even if they only take 1 level, and they would have better parking for there customers.

A Bay re-opening seems unlikely. The company just laid off 250+ employees in their Corporate and HQ division. Their priority right now is to stick to their key markets (See:big) and to maintain those for the time being.

A Goodlife location could be swell, though. I just visited the Goodlife in Halifax in Barrington Place and it was extraordinary, as well as frequenting the downtown Ottawa location. They can shape up a lot of older buildings, take up a ton of space, and create a lot of foot traffic for the adjoining area.

There is already a GoodLife right downtown, it's right next to not robinson court but the other one... It's a busy location too, I used to go there. I can't see them opening another one close to one of their busy locations.

Yes I had mentioned that. The point I was getting at was the possibility of combining both downtown gyms.

My wife talked to one of the Café workers today and what she had heard was Sobeys purchased the building for "offices". Whether she heard right and whether they repurpose or knockdown the building to start anew, we'll have to wait and see.

That building is at the end of its life. I can't believe that it'll be repurposed once more given it's condition. Particularly for offices associated in any way with a corporation like Sobeys.

If the rumors are true, then it's coming down.

The house at the southeast corner of Lester & Queen is being torn down at the moment. Is this part of the plan to realign Lewis & Assomption? Does anyone know when this work is supposed to occur?

From what I have heard from workers on the ground, and this is all hear say so (Grain of said adding time) There realigning Queen St. So it's not such an awkward intersection.

Din't hear anything about the Main St. Assumption Blvd. Lewis Street intersection except there are a lot of people who seem confused about where they have to go to get to where they are going.

Woody's BBQ will be opening in the old Pisces location on East Main Street on October 8th. This is just one day after the grand opening of Bass Pro Shops (this is interesting symmetry especially since both enterprises are chains with their roots in the southern USA which are invading Moncton at the same time - I guess we'd all better learn how to say "shucks" and "y'all" a lot more often).

Apparently they plan to open a patio overlooking the Petitcodiac River on the boardwalk in the spring. This is good news. I often wondered why Pisces didn't do that........

The river hadn't look decent until recently. Maybe they thought it would ruin appetites!
