That's exactly what that site needs IMO. It's a very unique site and rare opportunity, and I want to see something that isn't feasible to build practically somewhere else (read: no tall, thin towers).

I love the 70s Simpson Tower. They're going to butcher it though so another piece of our architectural layering will bite the dust.

1960s.

I can think of much worse than the Simpson Tower. Yeah, the design of the facade replacement/expansion is awful. I wish they went with something completely new and not this bargain basement version inspired by the original.

I actually don't dislike the Simpson Tower. It's better than a bland glass box, and infinitely better than the Sheraton Centre. That has to be the ugliest high rise in Toronto by far.

I can see some resemblance to the Bank of America Tower in NYC. Both of which I can neither decide if I like or dislike. I like th change from square box, but again find the angles not too aesthetically pleasing

I'm surprised E&Y turned out less awkward than I thought it would. Architecturally speaking, it's all flare. The bland, boring, simple PWC is a much better design.

Pointlessly angular.
"Pointlessly angular" refers to this Libeskindian (perhaps I'm wrong to hold him responsible) trend of haphazardly and asymmetrically slicing off corners of a building. Ridicule all you want (which is in itself otiose), but the style does not appeal to my visual sensibilities.

Well as long as I can ridicule all I want, then I'm happy.

Love the shot of Montreal with the bridge in the foreground. I wish Montreal was in Alberta. Then I could easily get out there 3 or 4 times a year.

This view will be really beautiful with the illumination of the Jacques Cartier bridge, next year.

It kinda surprises me that it hasn't already been illuminated. Montreal is so good at lighting their buildings at night you'd think they would have done the same for the bridge sooner.
