That would be a great place for some much-needed love in the east side. So far as I know there is nothing planned there (not sure the reason), but there are a couple proposals on Shuter, one of which is in a smaller parking lot across the street to the north.

That's a lot? I just assumed it was the roof of a mall or something. Great location - especially for a couple of very tall, thin ones.

The lot has had proposals for as long as I can remember. The owner just never had the funds. He finally sold. Ironically, now he has the funds.

I find the current proposal pretty drab. I think they could have come up with something a lot more creative. Think the Well or, better, Honest Eds. The 56 Leonard knockoff is far too tall for the area too.

That's an older render... here is a newer one:

The 56 Leonard rip-off is gone... and the height has been lowered to 177 metres and 57 floors.

@Ainvan - That 3rd picture on the page, it's probably one of my top 5 favourite angles of Toronto. I love the separation between the waterfront towers and the financial core around First Canadian Place!

Same buddy, a few more, from the CN Tower today. A few are pretty similar but I'll post the lot in case there's something interesting for those who know the city in one but not the others.

It's kind of fascinating/beautiful how clear the difference between older towers and new ones is.

Amazing that basically half of the island's population basically lives in the areas photographed here.

This pic makes me sooo happy! Finally something is finally hiding Simpson Tower, Toronto's second ugliest (highrise) office building.

Ugh, but it's that E&Y beast. Pointlessly angular rubbish.

How come people don't call buildings with mostly 90° angles "pointless" but those without, they do? Ironic considering that the resultant acute angles form even more marked "points" than the right angle forms that are supposedly more pointed.

Pointlessly angular.
