I'm confused about where this is. A Google search for Hanover Midtown keeps giving me Hanover West Peachtree, which looks different. Where is this project?

EDIT: Nevermind, finally tracked it down. Wow, this'll be huge.

Hanover Midtown is at Peachtree and 7th right? Across 7th from the nearly-completed 7th Midtown condos and next door to Bulldogs. I had similar difficulty in locating it but I think this is the right spot.

They're awful. Eventually, they'll bury the g-d dam things, but for now we're stuck with them bringing all of these great new Midtown streetscapes down a few notches.

From webcams it looks like the cranes are still up on Atlantic House, 33 Peachtree Place, Modera, and 5th and Peachtree sites.

That's normal... they're flexible. They have to be to carry those loads.

No crane fell, they just hit something at the Atlantic site. It's exceedingly rare for a tower crane to fall. I can't think of a single incident in the US. Crawler cranes do fall, though--that happened at a site in Buckhead recently.

A couple of cranes have fallen in New York in recent years.

Including one during Hurricane Sandy. Obviously, that was an extreme situation.

I do remember that one but wasn't counting it because of the hurricane. I've never heard of one just falling over on its own.

Can someone help me orient myself? Looking at this rendering I see Windy Ridge Parkway and where it intersects with Cobb Parkway, and then if I am reading this render right, they're going to have apartments halfway in Cobb Parkway, with a parking deck going over Cobb Parkway, and the Whole Foods on the other side of Cobb Parkway where the Lexus dealer is now? I'm obviously confused, but hopefully someone can shed some light.

I don't buy they'd build a Whole Foods there and an Apple Store, but I could be wrong. The Whole Foods specifically because of the location of Harry's (owned by Whole Foods) and the other in Sandy Springs. Seems a bit too close for Whole Foods IMO.

That's actually the intersection of Windy Ridge and Heritage Ct SE.

So that isn't an indication of what will retail will be around the park...it's just a model. So all the discussion was for nothing. LOL!

I find it highly unlikely Deep Sky would have taken creative liberty to put "potential" tenet logos Fuqua and the Braves have not already signed or are in negotiations with.

Displaying another company’s logo without first licensing the right to use the logo, infringes the copyright in the logo’s design. Section 102 of Title 17 of the U.S. Code (“Copyright Act”) states as follows:
a) Copyright protection subsists, in accordance with this title, in original works of authorship fixed in any tangible medium of expression, now known or later developed, from which they can be perceived, reproduced, or otherwise communicated, either directly or with the aid of a machine or device. Works of authorship include the following categories:
(1) literary works;
(2) musical works, including any accompanying words;
(3) dramatic works, including any accompanying music;
(4) pantomimes and choreographic works;
(5) pictorial, graphic, and sculptural works;
(6) motion pictures and other audiovisual works;

(8) architectural works.

Except during the iterative process designers often do take creative liberty to put potential retailer logos - often at the client's request.

I'm pretty sure they never intended to release these renderings showing these concepts publicly for the project but rather show their process - so not sure why you're citing Copyright Act. It's pretty common to show concepts for our clients who are wanting to woo retailers, but these sort of things never release until a Letter of Intent and/or lease have been signed to be publicly released. But posting it on your website as a means of demonstrating your process and draft versions as a portfolio doesn't infringe upon the copyright material either.

By the way Cumberland Mall has an Apple store.

I am aware of the Apple Cumberland store. With that said, Apple having a store at Suntrust Park has the potential to attract 3,320,000 baseball fans a year (Suntrust Park seating capacity 41,500 x 80 home games). Not to mention the millions in free media advertising and shoppers 365 days of the year.

Question: Isn't it widely known in the architectural world there are retailers you should not use their logos artistically without their written permission. Two being: Apple and Whole foods. The Related Group/Philips Partnership didn't put Whole Food's logo on their renderings even though they clearly were signing onto the the 14St project.
