There's some commercial action happening along Ridge (a new pharmacy, yoga studio, a very nice juice bar, a coffee bar, and several hair/nail salons), but no restaurants yet. I'm also hoping that this will change soon. Several of the new retail spaces, especially the new buildings rising at the corners of Ridge and Francis and Ridge and Ginnodo, are large enough to accommodate a restaurant space. I am also hoping for a new bar in one of these spaces.
Also, if you haven't tried it yet, Libertee Grounds at 16th and Girard is a fantastic new addition to the neighborhood! As a native Philadelphian, their lamb kheema cheesesteak is one of the best cheesesteaks I've ever had. Their "hyperlocal" craft beer selection is also killer. If they can be successful at Girard, then I know that a restaurant could be successful along Ridge--particularly along the 1500 or 1600 blocks.
