It's scheduled to complete by the end of the year so I wouldn't expect to hear much before summer. The closest to detailed info we have is the retail floorplan posted back on pg 5.

There's a Save-on-Foods at Highgate - so probably not them (but who knows?)

either a loblaws brand or a sobeys, what else is there? I don't think whole foods would fit the demographic.

Yeah - doubt one of the higher end stores.
Even Safeway & Thrifty's are upper mid market.

It would be interesting if No Frills expands.

That's a newer store with towers next door so I doubt they would move - plus they also have a location down the hill at Market Crossing.

There's a Safeway at New West Station - would it be too close for them?

I'm hoping it's something more basic like No Frills.

Safeway closed the store at Royal Oak (likely for property value in redevelopment)
- maybe they need another in the area, unless they also figured that the market wasn't right for them.

That location was more of an extension of Metrotown - most of the people around here just hop on the Skytrain for two stops / 5 min ride to New West (inc when they were both open).
