It's definitely a new render, but it is still really stretched. Look at the Buckhead theatre's podium compared to the older one.

The JPX Tower on one corner, the renovation of JCPenney building on another...what is the third corner they are referring to in the quote? The parking lot?

"The intersection of Peachtree and 3rd Street is poised to benefit from development activity on three of its four corners, and Carter’s project will have a significant impact on the street level experience on the east side of Peachtree.

I'm sorry. But this looks terrible to me. Hulking and disrespectful of the rest of the block.

This looks great. It will be one of the best looking baseball stadiums. I've been a supporter from the beginning. I do hope people support the Braves and realize the big picture.

I just can't support suburban baseball stadiums when you have great, historic, iconic stadiums like Wrigley and Fenway in or near the city cores themselves. Literally, just about every great world class American city(NYC, LA, SF, Chicago, D.C., Boston) has their baseball stadiums located in the city itself. 20 years down the road, there's going to be so much regret. I can already foresee it. These stadiums survived tumultuous times their cities had to face during the 60s-90s and now they're located in some of the best areas in the city, known by many.

It is looking nicer than I expected especially since Fuqua is the developer, but I have little interest to sit in traffic to get to a game. Also The Antico is meh, I'd rather patronize restaurants that treat their workers with respect and don't exploit them

Was 77 12th built like that? If so I didn't notice it then...

Great construction tour!

I had no idea the GSU dorms were that far along. That seemed to sprout out of the ground.

It does look great. But I still hate the location and the way the Braves handled the whole matter. This should be in town, not in an office park.

The Battery (cool name, I think) looks much better than I expected. A light rail connecting to Midtown would really sell it for me.

I don't think this rendering of the Big Bethel redevelopment has been posted:

The key pieces are a complete renovation of the existing 180-unit residential tower, and a brand new 1,000-bed student housing complex with 30,000 square feet of retail. They just signed an MOU with the developers.

"When asked whether Big Bethel would respect the historic integrity of the district by not demolishing any of the buildings along Auburn Avenue, Benoit said nothing would be demolished, but that there could be significant retrofit."

I don't think this news story from Bisnow was posted:

https://www.bisnow.com/atlanta/news/mult...for-ralph-mcgill-apartment-permits-51016
Quote:
JLB Partners is taking the final step toward a new multifamily project at 608 Ralph McGill Blvd. The Texas apartment developer has filed building permits with the City of Atlanta for Old Fourth Ward Apartments A and B, two five-story apartment buildings at the Ralph McGill site that will encompass 268 units.
Is there a rendering for this yet?

I think this was the previous proposal for that site when it was Inland Atlantic, but it sounds like JLB Partners is planning on phasing it into 2 buildings rather than one on the corner of Ralph McGill and Glen Iris.

Sorry to disagree-- I find the architecture mediocre or worse-- Its fairly terrible in turning its back to the surrounding streets-- totally internal and very suburban in that way--

Turning its back to the surrounding streets??? Some of these statements are laughable.

This is so far from the truth. Those stadiums are not in some of the best areas of the city. Also, some of those stadiums at the time they were built would be comparable to Marietta, as far as proximity to the city's core...i.e. The Bronx, in relation to the heart of Manhattan. And even as much as I love Dodger Stadium, and how it was carved into the canyon...Chavez Ravine is one of the worse stories to mankind just to build a stadium.
