My father's hometown.
The old family homestead, we call it the Meadow. My paternal great grandparents were the first to settle here and the land has slowly been divided up amongst the family. When I was young, everyone who lived on this street was related to me. Most still are.
Downtown Marystown in the distance. It's a small town but it's a service centre so it has two proper malls, a couple of strip malls, Walmart, fast food chains, hotels, etc. Quite a lot, actually, for just about 6,000 people.
A beautiful performance of one of the region's most beautiful folk songs, filmed at the local Town Hall.

Burin is the older area of town, with much more beautiful architecture and urban form.
There used to be a school right across the street from this house where I would go to learn Newfoundland folk dances.
"Downtown" Burin has a cafe and a very popular dinner theatre but, otherwise, it's mainly directed toward tourists. There is a large and well-equipped museum about the deadly 1929 tsunami that devastated the area.
This is still a favourite place to courting couples to go for a stroll. I brought an ex-BF from Winnipeg here.
